      The History

The Ingram family has owned this richly historic property since 1939, when they purchased the original 1891 farmhouse. Frank Ingram and his wife, Rhoda Hopson Ingram, renovated the old farmhouse and began the gardens. With a true love for gardening, Rhoda Hopson envisioned pathways and allees to meander through cozy garden rooms which came to fruition through out her life. Years later, her grandson Jay Averett, alongside the property’s caretakers AP and Alea Moore, resurrected the breathtaking property once again, as Meadowlark 1939.
